Growing Instructions

Each order includes an easy-to-follow instruction card. For best results, only prepare the amount of seed you plan to use right away. Soak 1/3 cup of seeds in room-temperature water for 6–8 hours. While soaking, prepare a shallow seed tray using coconut coir or fertilizer-free potting mix. Avoid soils containing added plant food or chemicals.

After soaking, rinse the seeds thoroughly and spread them evenly across the surface of the growing medium in a single layer. Do not bury the seeds. Place another tray or cover on top to block light and encourage sprouting. Once the seeds begin to germinate, uncover the tray and move it to a bright windowsill or sunny area so the grass can green up properly. Keep the growing medium consistently moist and never allow it to dry out completely. If mold appears, lightly mist the base of the sprouts with diluted hydrogen peroxide to help control it.

Why Pets Love Cat Grass

Fresh cat grass is a natural source of fiber and nutrients that may help support digestion and reduce hairballs. It also contains Vitamins B, C, and K along with protein and chlorophyll, making it a healthy treat for many household pets.

Feeding Suggestions

Place the tray somewhere your pets can easily reach once the grass is established. Some pets may need a little time before they recognize it as food. Continue watering regularly and keep the tray in sunlight while they adjust. If your pets are not interested, the grass can also be harvested, rinsed, and juiced for people to enjoy as fresh wheatgrass.
